AI That Works Offline

Jason Farmer explains the role of on-site execution in physical AI architecture, using an operational technology (OT) virtual coworker as the example.

On-site execution and continuity

The OT virtual coworker runs locally at the site rather than depending on a continuous cloud connection to keep working. When that connection drops, local execution allows it to continue operating.

The key architectural point is the distinction between cloud connectivity and on-site operation: losing access to the cloud does not have to stop the locally running coworker.
